xAI launched Grok Voice 3.0 for voice agents. It keeps its $0.08 per minute price and, according to xAI, tops an Artificial Analysis speech-to-speech index.
xAI announced on October 14 Grok Voice 3.0, a model that listens and answers with voice, built for agents that take calls or talk inside an app. It is available in its voice agent API.
Price
- $0.08 per minute, which is $4.80 per hour, plus $0.004 for text input.
- It is the same price as version 2.0.
What the tests say
- xAI cites testing by Artificial Analysis, an independent firm, dated October 13: according to that citation, the model ranks first on its speech-to-speech index with 86.9 points, ahead of GPT-Live-1 (83.2) and Gemini 3.8 Live (82.6). As of October 14, Artificial Analysis's public page did not yet list Grok Voice 3.0, so the figure comes from what xAI published.
- On tau-Voice, a test of simulated support calls, xAI reports 71.6%; in the chart published by xAI, GPT-Live-1 appears at 74.5% on that same test. xAI says its result is comparable at 40% lower latency.
- xAI says its latency is under one second and that it already handles millions of conversations a day at Tesla and SpaceX.
What it means for you
If you run a business and are thinking about an assistant that answers customer calls or questions by voice, the cost per minute is a useful reference for comparison. It is a tool for those who build or hire this kind of service, not a ready-to-use app. The test results are reported by xAI itself and by firms citing them, so it is worth trying with your own case.
