Xero launched a Gemini integration that brings your live financial data into Google's assistant. Any change, like issuing an invoice, requires your confirmation first.
Xero, the small-business accounting platform, launched an integration with Gemini this week that brings your live financial data into Google's assistant. Diya Jolly, Xero's president of product and technology, explained it in an October 13 statement.
What you can do: check your financial position, review cash flow, analyze business performance and manage invoices and bills, all from the Gemini conversation without jumping between apps. You can also look up organization and contact details, such as customers and suppliers.
The key point, control: according to Xero, any operation that modifies financial data, such as issuing an invoice or sending a payment reminder, requires your explicit confirmation in Xero's connected app inside Gemini before it runs. The review and final judgment stay with the business owner and the bookkeeper.
What's next: in the near future, customers on eligible plans will be able to use a "tasks" mode in Gemini to create schedules and workflows for routine work with live Xero data.
For you: if you already use Xero, it's a way to ask "how is my cash this month?" in plain language. If you quote and collect deposits, you can pair it with a quoting tool to keep everything organized. The Xero text does not detail availability by country or pricing for the integration, so check your plan.
