Google launched a library of interactive scenes for learning in the Gemini app, and per an October roundup, you can now create and edit documents and PDFs without leaving the chat.
Google is filling its Gemini app with features for studying and working, and two recent additions are worth knowing.
1. Immersive explorations. On October 28, Google announced that the Gemini app now has a library of immersive explorations: interactive, visual scenes for exploring a topic layer by layer, from microscopic systems to deep space. Google's examples include tracing Silk Road trade routes, peering inside a jet engine and studying the physics of lightning. Today you get in through Gemini's new student hub, and Google says they will soon be available directly inside a chat.
2. Files inside the chat. According to a roundup of October's updates ("Gemini Drops"), on October 29 a feature arrived to create, preview and edit files such as documents and PDFs directly in the conversation. The same roundup mentions that "Skills" (custom instructions) began rolling out on October 13.
Who is it for?
- If you teach, train your team or explain complex products, interactive scenes are a different way to show a topic.
- If you put together quotes, product sheets or summaries, having the file ready in the same chat saves you steps.
Availability may vary by country, language and account type, so check your app.
