The Maps integration now reaches your searches and saved places, and can be combined with Calendar to give you tailored recommendations for your day. It is turned on from Gemini's personalization settings.
The Gemini app expanded the Google Maps integration inside Personal Intelligence, according to 9to5Google, in a report published on October 22, 2026. The feature uses your emails, docs, photos, videos and more to customize Gemini's responses without you having to be specific each time.
What changes
Since launch, the «Search services» Connected App has allowed Gemini to access Search, Maps, Shopping, News, and Google Flights and Hotels. Now, the Maps integration extends to your searches and saved places.
The example Google highlights combines Maps with Calendar access to «give you tailored recommendations for your day.» If you ask: «I have a list of restaurants I've been meaning to try. What's the best spot for after my meetings today?», Gemini checks where your last meeting is and finds saved locations near it.
Google notes that, with your permission, Gemini can reference your Maps searches and saved places alongside your Google Calendar.
How to turn it on
You can enable Personal Intelligence from gemini.google.com/personalization-settings. Since the feature uses your personal data, it is worth reviewing which apps you connect before switching it on.
One more detail
The same source mentions that Personal Intelligence is also coming to Android Auto this week. 9to5Google does not detail which countries or languages get this expansion, so check in your account whether it already shows up.
