It uses your photos or Instagram to build a digital wardrobe and suggest combinations; for now it's only available in Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand.
Meta launched Style Sketch, an AI fashion app that suggests outfits using clothes you already own, according to ProPakistani. It is one of several experimental apps from the company.
How it works
- You can build your digital wardrobe by uploading photos or videos, importing images from your camera roll or connecting your Instagram account, from which it takes clothing shown in photos you already posted.
- It suggests combinations considering your clothes, body shape, skin tone and local weather, per Social Samosa.
- For trips, you enter the destination and how many days and it gives day-by-day suggestions.
- It includes a preview of the outfit on a model matched to your body shape and skin tone.
Availability
For now the app is free and available on iOS and Android, but only in Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand, according to ProPakistani. Meta has not announced whether it will expand the app to more countries, so there is currently no confirmation that users in Mexico can download it. Social Samosa reports that the apps are designed for iPhone only, but ProPakistani says there is also a version on Google Play.
Why it could help you
If you sell clothing or accessories, or offer image consulting, it's an example of how AI can turn loose photos into an organized catalog and personalized suggestions. Meta also launched Waddle World, a virtual pet app for kids.
